Theme Addict: Chai

If you’ve ever tried to curb your coffee habit, you’ve probably tried a tea or two. Teas tend to have personalities of their own – some are bright, some calming, some bitter and medicinal. Whether you ogle at oolong, root for rooibos, or gush for green, there’s likely a tea out there for you!

For home brewers, you know that it can be a delicate and intricate process to make tea. Water temperature, steep time, flavor add-ins, or sweeteners are all things to think about when making teas.

Chai takes that concept even a step further. Created by Steeped Games, Chai is a set collection game where players own their own tea shops and craft the perfect cups of leaf-juice for their customers to enjoy. Visit the pantry for essential items like sugar, check out the market to snag discounts on flavor agents like mint or ginger, and even pull customers off the street right into your shop to prevent other shop owners from stealing your business.Whoever has the most victory points from completing successful orders and racking up the tips by the end of the game wins!

After sipping on this game, players will experience the following:

  • A sudden urge to play tetris, bejeweled, or candy crush
  • Calling ‘dibs’ on everything you possible can in your real life
  • Only buying from discount grocery stores (those strawberries aren’t that moldy!)
  • A craving for boba tea… like right now

  • Crumpets
  • Finger-sandwiches
  • Dim Sum
  • Tim Tams
  • Scones
