Sure, sure. Portugese exploration reached all-time highs under Manuel I reign in the late 15th and early 16th centuries. But clearly Manny knew that those would make the driest of board game themes once the 21st century rolled around. Refusing to see his legacy die with the rise of the hobby game industry 500 years later, Manny took the trip to Southern Spain, fell in love with azulejos and the germination of Azul began.
